Things just got a little crazy.
Sunday seems like a lifetime of vines and pictures and moths away now but as the dust settles on a stirring Euro 2016 final, the cold light of day is producing paranoia and guilt.
Portuguese people the world over are waking up with sore heads and angst. They’re looking at the mess in their trail and they’re trying to piece together the journey from when Eder’s goal got the party started.
The stories continue to unfold. Men are praising each other and they’re drinking it all in.

But now they’re probably questioning if some things really did happen.
Did Cristiano Ronaldo, say, really grab the coach and run him down the sideline, shaking him all the while? Would the captain really do that to his 61-year-old boss? Would Fernando Santos have cared that much?
It’ll be alright. Right?
Well, the Portugal manager did seem to care a hell of a lot even amidst all the joy.
Ronaldo lost control of himself, forgot where he was and just grabbed the first person next to him who happened to be poor Santos. And the 31-year-old machine never eased up or stopped.

This is just pure joy. This wasn’t about Ronaldo. This was about Portugal.
