Wenger has been known to maintain a deadpan expression even when his side go three or four goals up, but this incident really tickled the Frenchman.
A journalist’s phone started ringing during the Arsenal manager’s post-match press conference yesterday, and it really distracted focus. Wenger was trying to discuss how his side’s comprehensive 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the FA Cup when the phone began blaring a dance “choon”.
A collective “Aww” of disappointment was emitted from everyone in the media room as the culprit rejected the call, bringing the ringtone to an end. Meanwhile, Wenger sat there grinning in disbelief, presumably trying to remember where he left off before the interruption.
