Well played Scottish football. Well played

For the first time ever, a 10-year old fan is the favourite to win the SPFL goal of the month

Celtic diehard Jay Beatty has been shortlisted for the League’s goal of the month for January.

Jay, who has Down’s syndrome, was brought recently given the full VIP treatment at his beloved club when they took on Hamilton. On the day, he got to meet all the players, give team talks and even scored a penalty during the halftime interval.

In a rather sound move, the SPFL have nominated the Armagh native’s well-struck spot-kick for the goal of the month.

Despite losing 2-0 at home, Hamilton went the extra mile by adding Jay’s goal to the final tally. The club announced that the result of the game was 3-0 to Celtic on their official Twitter account.
