UCD awarded 3-0 win after Bohs field ineligible player
It would have been worse if Bohs had actually won the game.
UCD have been awarded a 3-0 victory over Bohemians after it was found that Bohemians fielded an ineligible player in their SSE Airtricity League Premier Division clash on Monday night in UCD.
The game itself didn't pass without controversy. After Yoyo Mahdy's goal helped secure UCD a 1-0 victory, their goalkeeper Conor Kearns was involved in a confrontation with the Bohs fans and players.
The 21-year-old Templeogue graduate celebrated in front of the away fans at the final whistle and his actions weren't warmly received by the Bohs faithful.
That wasn't the end of it though, with the League of Ireland issuing a statement on Thursday afternoon.
"An FAI Disciplinary Committee has found that Bohemians played an ineligible player, Daniel Mandroiu, who was due to serve a suspension in the fixture.
In accordance with the FAI rules, UCD have been awarded a 3-0 victory and a fine has been imposed on Bohemians.
Careless stuff at this level.
