The proposed interview would see Greenwood challenged over his sexual assault allegations.
Manchester United are considering making Mason Greenwood available for a TV interview, ahead of a proposed return to first team action.
Last month, some of the Manchester club’s biggest sponsors gave their blessing to a Greenwood return, namely shirt manufacturer Adidas, who fund United to the tune of £75 million per season.
Now, according to the Daily Star, the next step of Greenwood’s potential return is in the pipeline, with this muted TV appearance coming about in the wake of fresh protests over the 23-year-old’s reintegration into the United squad.
This TV appearance would reportedly see Greenwood challenged over his sexual assault allegations, with the hope internally that this could aid in the rebuilding of his image amongst fans.

United’s players have themselves reportedly been consulted on Greenwood’s potential return, with the majority of the first team squad holding no objections.
The wide forward is still currently subject to an internal investigation from his club, having seen charges dropped by police earlier this year.
Ahead of the Red Devil’s first Premier League fixture of the season against Wolves on Monday night, a group of fans will stage a protest calling for the club to move on from the England international.
Speaking to these protests, one fan told the Athletic, “It’s time for the club to stand up and make the right decision… This is a tipping point for the club.
“Are they going to side with commercialism and trophies and money? Or are they going to take the side of the match going fans.”
