Meanwhile, Liverpool look set to do battle with Inter to sign Lazio's Keita Balde Diao.
The 20-year-old Spanish forward would be extremely interested in a move to Anfield, according to his agent Ulisse Savini.
He told Radio Sei that his player is unlikely to leave Lazio this summer, but admitted that Liverpool could be a perfect fit for the Spaniard.
“For years there have been several offers coming in, but considering the situation I have to say this summer they are particularly interesting." “I personally spoke to Lazio and they said his sale is not predicted. It’s only natural that he isn’t satisfied with the situation, so we are evaluating other options." “Liverpool have a manager who relishes attacking players like Keita. It is a destination we would like, but we have to verify a series of situations. So far I have not had any direct contact with Liverpool."
Manchester United are also keen to sign up some Serie A talent. Sky Sports Italia are reporting that the Red Devils have turned their attention to Torino full-back Matteo Darmian.
The right-back, who can play as a winger, has been on the radar of several clubs this summer including Bayern Munich and Juventus.
However, reports in Italy say United have have got the ball rolling with a £10.7 million offer for the 25-year-old. The Turin outfit might hold out for a bit more though, as they have slapped a £15 million asking price for Darmian.
Finally, Chelsea and Barcelona are poised to slug it out for Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan, so the Daily Mail are claiming.
The Catalan club are favourites to land Turan but Chelsea remain in the hunt.
Manchester United have apparently dropped out of the race to sign the Turkish international to focus their attention on bringing Morgan Scneiderlin to Old Trafford.
