Transfer talk: Chelsea in for Bale, United and Liverpool doing battle and Messi and Ronaldo to Premier League?

It's all going on... apparently

Conan Doherty

This town ain’t big enough for the two of us.

We can’t be 100 per cent sure but we’d imagine Cristiano Ronaldo is probably saying something along those lines in Carlo Ancelotti’s office.

Gareth Bale might well have bagged himself a brace at the weekend but his celebration – seemingly having a pop at the Bernabeu boo boys – did nothing to quash rumours of his unrest. And, whilst Manchester United‘s interest has constantly topped the gossip columns – the Daily Star reinforcing that today – it appears Chelsea have joined the race for his signature owing to a lack of athletes in the side who can track back for Jose. (Daily Express)

Liverpool and Manchester United are readying for battle on the field this Sunday but the pair are also said to be locking horns in the transfer market, too. Argentine winger Eduardo Salvio‘s contract talks with Benfica are progressing slowly and Brendan Rodgers is trying to prize him to Anfield ahead of United. Louis van Gaal though is licking his lips at the prospect of transforming another winger into a full back and will stop at nothing to get his man. (Daily Mirror)

Tottenham Hotspur meanwhile are looking to capture the signing of Stoke goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic. Probably because Hugo Lloris just isn’t world class enough for them. (Daily Mirror)

If you were being really cynical though… there’s an interesting merry-go-round developing.

Asmir Begovic is off to Spurs because Hugo Lloris is off to United because David De Gea is off to Madrid because Gareth Bale is off to United. Because Iker Casillas is off to… Stoke? (SportsJOE)

More United news with Gary Neville being quoted in the Daily Star that he will try to convince Lionel Messi to come to Old Trafford. Have a word with Cristiano while you’re at it, Gary. See if he’s interested in linking up with Tim Sherwood.

Villa fans, don’t hold your breath though because Hristo Stoichkov has said that Cristiano Ronaldo should be sold to Manchester United. (Daily Mail)

That’s if the price is right of course so the message is simple:
