Tim Sherwood gives Villa fans 200,000 reasons to behave during Saturday’s derby

Joleon Lescott is not the only person who will be under surveillance at Villa Park tomorrow.

Aston Villa host their local rivals West Bromwich Albion tomorrow and Tim Sherwood this morning urged the home fans to behave themselves.

New Villan Lescott was on the West Brom team for last season’s fiery FA Cup quarter-final, which Sherwood’s side won 2-0.

Ahead of their first meeting since, Sherwood asked the home fans to restrain themselves somewhat, so the club can avoid a repeat of the £200,000 fine they received for two pitch invasions during the cup tie.

“I just hope that they’re tempted to,” Sherwood said.

“If they are then we’ve done something right, but please stay to the edge on the pitch. Do all your cheering from there. You do it well enough.

“It can be done from their seats or standing up. Make sure you stay off the pitch.”

West Brom, in 14th, are one place above Villa in the table after five games, so the stakes are not too high for this Midlands derby.

However all bets could be off if Lescott pops up with a goal against his old club.
