This London XI from the 2014/15 season has left us scratching our heads

Hugo Lloris in goal?

“There are three types of lies – lies, damn lies and statistics.”

That’s a saying that we are beginning to put a lot of credence in after the Evening Standard published their London XI from the 2014/15 season.

The newspaper used the WhoScored.com power rankings to put together the best performers from teams based in the English capital and the results have left us bewildered.

LONDON

Arsenal outnumber the Premier League champions with five players to Chelsea’s four and the final two places are taken up by the unlikely candidates of West Ham’s James Tomkins and Spurs’ Hugo Lloris.

You’d have thought that John Terry and Thibaut Courtois were nailed on for those positions but were outscored by Tomkins’ rating of 7.39 and the French goalkeeper’s score of 6.92.

We’re also raging about the lack of Bolasie in the side. We can’t get enough of that bloody Bolasie.
