The only thing funnier than this player tackling himself is the commentator’s reaction

It's like a bad FIFA glitch

Sometimes in life, we can be our own greatest enemy.

You’ll know this all too well if you’ve ever woken up on an important work day with a violent hangover or found yourself double-booked having promised your time to two groups of people.

But sometimes these acts of self-sabotage are a little less private. Sometimes everyone sees just how badly you’ve f**ked yourself over. And sometimes they laugh.

This is the unfortunate fate that befell Clube de Regatas Brasil defender Diego Pereira Correa, who achieved the rare feat of tackling himself during a recent Copa do Brasil game.

Having found a bit of space for himself, Pereira inexplicably does the Ivinhema defenders’ jobs for them and trips himself up.

And you don’t need to speak a lick of Portuguese to understand the commentator’s reaction.

While it’s certainly an embarrassing moment that he is sure to never live down, things could have been much worse for Pereira.

Despite his FIFA-like glitch, CRB still went on to win the game 2-0 and advance to the second round of the tournament.
