Thierry Henry linked with bringing former Arsenal teammate to Monaco

AS Monaco manager Thierry Henry is reportedly close to bringing former Arsenal teammate and current Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas to the club.

Fabregas has made just five appearances this season for the Blues but has started just one game with Ross Barkley, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic all preferred to the Spaniard by manager Maurizio Sarri.

Monaco are currently languishing near the bottom of Ligue 1 with just three wins from 18 games this season and have lost three of their last four games.

The club have lost the majority of the side that made the Champions League semi-finals two seasons ago and the addition of Fabregas would provide some much needed creativity to a side that have scored just 16 league goals this season.

According to L’Équipe, Fabregas’ move to Monaco should be completed next week with negotiations reportedly going well between both sides.

The publication added that even if there are still some points to settle, the arrival of Fabregas should be completed next week.

Monaco have also been linked with Crystal Palace’s Mamadou Sakho and former Chelsea captain Gary Cahill.
