The Simpsons do it again… A 2014 episode predicted the Fifa arrests a mile off

Nailed it

Darragh Murphy

As if we needed another bloody reason to love The Simpsons, they go and do this.

Not only is it hilarious but the show also shows the kind of perspicacity that would make Nostradamus jealous.

An episode from March 2014 entitled ”You Don’t Have to Live Like a Referee” featured a representative from the fictional World Football Federation who was trying to convince Homer to take a role with the organisation due to the corruption that was running riot within.

That’s before the executive vice-president gets arrested for corruption himself and escorted out.

Considering the goings-on in Zurich this week, with a number of Fifa officials being arrested on suspicion of corruption, it seems like The Simpsons’ writers absolutely nailed it.

Bang on, Groening. Bang…bloody…on.
