It’s (still) the most wonderful time of the year – so that means midweek Prem footy
We’re back full of festive cheer, bringing you six fixtures with the promise of a title-topping clash.
At 19:30 GMT, eight sides all play at the same time, starting with Scott Parker’s relegation-threatened Clarets hosting Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
Elsewhere, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from their late hammer blow last time around – Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth are the visitors.
Sean Dyche’s Forest came almightily close to a point versus Pep Guardiola’s City – they have the opportunity to turn their fortunes around instantly with his former club Everton Trentside bound.
West Ham United are also in the need of points as they slip further into the relegation zone; their familiar foe Brighton are coming to the London Stadium.
Forty-five minutes later, a box-office double header then commences.
Table-topping Arsenal face a familiar threat, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa. They’ve played before, they’ve beaten them before, and a win for England’s most in-form side would take the Villains level at the top of the table.
Lastly, Ruben Amorim has hinted at changing formation, with Rob Edwards’ Wolves turning up to Old Trafford. What an opportunity to do it.
