The most infamous banner in Manchester United’s history could be auctioned off for charity

Maybe the next one will celebrate Fergie time

We thought everything to do with David Moyes has been burned in a big skip last April after he got the sack

If you say something is for charity then normally people tend to cough up a few quid to support it.

We’re not sure how many Manchester United fans will be keen to shell out for the most infamous banner to ever hang in Old Trafford but it will no doubt find a good home somewhere.

Fans group Stretford End Flags are hoping to raise money for a good cause by selling their most infamous creation – The Chosen One banner which was unveiled in homage to David Moyes.

Spokesperson Andrew Kilduff says the banner will now follow Moyes through the Old Trafford exit door, but he hopes that worthwhile charity can benefit from its notoriety.

‘The Chosen One banner is still in a storage room at Old Trafford,” The Telegraph report Kilduff as saying.

‘United have actually told us that he needs collecting as it belongs to us, but we just haven’t got round to it yet. The National Football Museum had been keen to have it, but they haven’t been back in touch, so we will probably look to auction it for charity now.’

It cost almost €600 to make but did little to inspire Moyes during his torrid time at United.

The club are hoping to replace the banner with one more suitable.

Maybe ‘The Arrogant One’ would suit Louis Van Gaal
