An alleged assault occurred at the team’s hotel between a fan and a member of the Irish camp. The incident happened after a group of fans gathered outside the hotel to try to see some of the players.

It is alleged that a scuffle broke out after a projectile was thrown from the group at a well-known member of the Irish set up.  A fan is reportedly undergoing medical treatment after being struck during the fracas.

The Boys In Green as well as the management staff, including Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane, are based in the hotel ahead of their crucial Euro 16 qualifier against Scotland in Glasgow on Friday. The team are due to fly to Scotland tomorrow.

We’ll keep you up to date on the story as it develops.
