Martin O’Neill has nothing to fear from this bunch.

That’s our take at least on the Sweden squad which has been named this afternoon for Euro 2016.

Most of the household names that you would have expected to be there will be on the plane to France for next month’s Group E action, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mikael Lustig from Celtic as well as Sunderland’s Seb Larsson.

The key talking point from the squad announcement by manager Erik Hamren is the surprise inclusion of Albin Ekdal who got injured in a fall in a nightclub at the weekend.

He suffered a deep cut to his back after falling against a table when celebrating his Hamburg side retaining their Bundesliga status for another season.

There are six players from the team that won the European Under-21 trophy last year in the 23-man senior squad including Patrik Carlgren, defenders Victor Nilsson Lindelof and Ludwig Augustinsson, midfielders Oscar Lewicki and Oscar Hiljemark and Celta Vigo striker John Guidetti

The squad in full is:

Sweden squad:

Goalkeepers: Andreas Isaksson, Robin Olsen, Patrik Carlgren.

Defenders: Ludwig Augustinsson, Andreas Granqvist, Pontus Jansson, Erik Johansson, Mikael Lustig, Victor Nilsson Lindelof, Martin Olsson.

Midfielders: Jimmy Durmaz, Albin Ekdal, Emil Forsberg, Oscar Hiljemark, Kim Kallstrom, Sebastian Larsson, Pontus Wernbloom, Erkan Zengin, Oscar Lewicki.

Forwards: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcus Berg, John Guidetti, Emir Kujovic.

We face Sweden in our first group game on June 13th in Paris.
