Liverpool are already earmarking a number of midfielders in Europe to try and fill the Steven Gerrard shaped hole in their squad next season. However Brendan Rodgers may have to put a line through one particular player who's refusing a move to Merseyside. According to the Mail On Sunday Mateo Kovacic's agent is advising that his client will not be lighting up the Premier League after the summer. The Inter Milan man is currently injured but has scored 8 times in 34 appearances for the Serie A side so far this term. His agent,who also represents Dejan Lovren, has ruled out a switch to Anfield. Ross Barkley hasn't quite had the follow up season he would have wished for this year, after making a sensational impact last term under Roberto Martinez. However he might find the going at easier at Chelsea or Manchester City with both clubs linked to the Everton man this morning. According to the Daily Star Sunday the clubs are set to have a bidding war over the 21-year-old, with his club claiming he's worth €60million. The deal would not go down well with the blue half of Merseyside, but with the club looking to bring in a number of players this summer, Martinez may find the offer too good to turn down. Arsene Wenger must be pretty confident he'll still be at Arsenal next summer as the club are ready to sanction some big spending for the Frenchman. According to the Sun the Gunners are looking to snap up  outhampton's Victor Wanyama and Serbian Aleksandar Mitrovic. Wanyama is seen as the closest Wenger might find to a 'Patrick Viera' type player while the club are desperate to add to their attacking options and see the Anderlecht striker as a bargain for around €18million. According to the reports the club are hoping that both players together would cost in the region of €40million The revolving door at Newcastle could do with some oil if reports this morning are to be believed at the number of players entering and exiting the club. According to the Sunday Mirror the club are looking to spend almost €90million on new players and Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote and Tim Krul can all pack their bags. It's understood owner Mike Ashely is looking to cash in on his high-profile players. He's also believed to be close to agreeing a deal with Derby's Steven McClaren on taking over as new manager from John Carver.
