“It’s another step in his development.”

Ireland defender Nathan Collins has took to life at Wolves with relative ease, and is enjoying a good start to the Premier League campaign.

The real challenge is only just about to begin however, as his side will play Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

When City comes to town, it also means you have to deal with Erling Haaland, the unstoppable striker who literally finds the net in every single game that he plays.

However, its challenges like these that bring out the best in players, and Ireland boss Stephen Kenny believes that Collins is ready for the task ahead.

“Nathan has taken everything in his stride,” Kenny explained on Thursday afternoon. “[It is] very impressive the way he’s done that.

“It’s a big challenge of course, taking on Manchester City and Haaland. It’s another step in his development. He’s played a high number of games for one so young, playing at Stoke and Burnley.

“He seems to be a firm fixture in Wolves’ team which is terrific. For any of our Irish players to be playing regularly in the Premier League, ideally it’s what we want.
