Alex Ferguson takes Paul Pogba’s agent to the cleaners with this rattling one-liner

Classic Fergie

Fergie can still bring out the hairdryer treatment.

Now that he’s #PogBack at Old Trafford, Manchester United fans are looking forward to a future where Paul Pogba is an instrumental force in the club’s bid to reestablish themselves as a dominant team in England and Europe.

Since returning from Juventus, the French international hasn’t exactly controlled every game that he has featured in, but there’s no denying his remarkable talents.

Hell, Champions League qualification and two trophies isn’t exactly a bad year, but given United’s ambitions and Pogba’s record transfer fee, there’s no denying that improvement is required.

Then again, if you doubt his ability, let Graeme Souness elaborate.

When he’s not confirming his status as the world’s greatest dabbernow sadly retired – or destroying England’s midfield, Pogba’s name is rarely far from the tabloids – expected due to the £89.3 million fee.

Regarding Pogba’s departure from Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson has previously been very vocal about his dealings with the Frenchman’s agent, Mino Raiola.

“There are one or two football agents I simply do not like, and Mino Raiola, Paul Pogba’s agent is one of them. I distrusted him from the moment I met him. We had Paul under a three-year contract, and it had a one-year renewal option which we were eager to sign. Raiola suddenly appeared on the scene and our first meeting was a fiasco. He and I were like oil and water,” Ferguson said.

Since those comments, Raiola has hit back but their war of words has showed no signs of slowing down.

During his time at Sale Sharks, rugby player Brian Mujati was in attendance at a meeting where Sir Alex Ferguson delivered a speech.

Rather than just standing idly by, Mujati asked Ferguson why nobody at Manchester United appeared to acknowledge – or try harder – to keep a talent like Pogba at the club.

Fergie’s reply is absolutely vintage.

“Paul Pogba? He had a bad agent. A shitbag.”

Take a look as the room erupts in laughter.
