Norwich City’s demands put Robbie Brady’s dream transfer in serious danger

Since his heroics with the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016, the thought of Robbie Brady playing in the Championship has become difficult to fathom.

The 24-year-old was sensational for Martin O'Neill's side, scoring the dramatic winner against Italy, and the opening goal of the last-16 game against France. Brady has subsequently been heavily linked with a move to a series of Premier League clubs, from a return to his former club Hull City, to Southampton, West Ham and a number of newly promoted teams. The strongest links have been with Leicester City, however, according to The Mirror, Brady could be priced out of his dream move. Leicester had met Norwich City's original valuation of Brady - £12m - but the Canaries have since hiked up their price for the Dubliner, rejecting a number of bids. The Premier League champions are now been quoted a fee in the region of £20m, prompting Leicester to reportedly explore other options. Brady, who signed for Norwich from Hull for £7m last summer, has two years left to run on his contract, and is understood to have his heart set on playing in the Champions League with Leicester. If Brady was to join a club for £20m this summer it would be a record fee paid for a player in the Championship, eclipsing the £16.5m Charlton Athletic received for Darren Bent in 2007.
