Richard has put the banter on hold for a while.
Hundreds of tributes are being paid to the late Limerick man, and British broadcasting institution, that was Terry Wogan.
The former radio and TV presenter died today at the age of 77 after a short illness and although he was not known as s sports broadcaster, he did have some very famous moments with some of the biggest sports stars in the world in his career.
Such as this infamous meeting with George Best in the 1990.
RIP to brilliant Irish broadcaster Terry Wogan, who has died aged 77. Remember this famous moment with Georgie Best? pic.twitter.com/ISPHgCS8Y7

Wogan was incredibly well liked by everyone in broadcasting circles across the Irish Sea, and several commentators he would have crossed paths with paid tribute to him today.
Saddened to hear that Sir Terry Wogan has passed away. One of the most brilliant and likeable broadcasters of all time. #RIPTerry

I went to the same school as Terry Wogan. The idea that a kid from Limerick could go & make it at the BBC was so inspiring. Absolute hero.

But the best, and by that we mean the tribute that we can’t really think is totally heartfelt, although we could be wrong, is from former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys, who even managed to get ‘Sir’ into his tribute to the  77- year-old.
Like 'legend' the phrase 'national institution' is often over used. Not in this case – Sir Terry Wogan will forever be both. RIP.
