Report: Manchester United offered Radja Nainggolan in swap deal

Jack O'Toole

Manchester United have reportedly been offered Belgium midfielder Radja Nainggolan in a swap deal that would Nemanja Matic move the other way to Inter Milan.

United bought Matic for £40m when he signed from Chelsea in July 2017 but he could now be set for a reunion with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

According to Mark Ogden of ESPN,  Inter have indicated a willingness to offer £10 million plus Nainggolan for Matic, however, the 31-year-old seems content at the San Siro when speaking to Sky Italia last month.

“I’m not talking about the market. I’ve always been one who has played for so many years in every team, now I’ve been a year at Inter and it would be strange to think that after a year I can leave a company that has me wanted and that is trying to grow anyway. I would like to grow with Inter, so let’s see how it goes.

“I’ve always been happy where I’ve been, I’ve always left so much where I’ve been and I hope I can do the same thing at Inter. I greet them and tell them to continue to follow me. Where? I have a three-year contract, so I am calm.”

Meanwhile midfielder Andreas Pereira and defender Axel Tuanzebe have both signed new contracts at Old Trafford, until June 2023 and 2022 respectively.
