Red Devils supporters are furious after a plaque commemorating Sir Matt Busby has been reportedly removed from Old Trafford .
This claim was made in a report from the Manchester Evening News. The piece also details how Sir Matt’s grandchildren were told they would no longer have access to seats in the director’s box.
Busby is credited with rebuilding the club following the 1958 Munich air disaster, in which 23 lives were lost, including eight players. He was injured in the disaster, but recovered and transformed the team into a dominant force featuring players such as Dennis Law and George Best.
Manchester Evening News claim a source informed them that the Busby family will no longer have their seats in the director’s box, which would mark the end of a practice that has lasted over 40 years at the club. The source also told them the plaque had been removed.
“Worse than that they have removed the plaques on the seats, including the one with Sir Matt Busby’s name on. That name has been on his seat for nearly 50 years – so who is going to sit there now?”
This report has been doing the rounds on social media and fans are not happy about the idea of the club treating the club legend and his family in such a manner.
If they have any class and respect for their history Manchester United will not remove the Busby plaque. Shame on them if they do #MUFC

If the stories are true about the disgraceful treatment of the Busby family then it is a shocking embarrassing indictment of the club.

Whoever decided to remove Sir Matt Busby's plaque and told his grandchildren they no longer have access to seats, is a disrespectful moron.
