One of Real Madrid's best-known players reportedly had to attend hospital following a training ground altercation with one of his teammates.
The situation is just the latest example of disruption at the Bernabeu in the lead-up to this week's El Clasico with Barcelona, and follows a petition being signed by Los Blancos fans calling for Kylian Mbappe to leave the club.
On Wednesday, the Athletic reported that Aurelian Tchouameni and Federico Valverde clashed towards the end of a training session, with the disagreement continuing into the dressing rooms.
Reporting from Spanish outlet Marca indicates that the two players have since been involved in a second "serious incident," prompting the club to call for an emergency meeting.
This second incident is said to have been "much worse."
The latest disagreement between the two is said to have begun when Valverde refused to shake Tchouameni's hand.
The Spanish report, quoted here by The Metro, adds that the situation significantly boiled over, with Valverde suffering "a heavy blow that caused a cut," causing him to have to travel to hospital.
While exact details of what transpired between the teammates has yet to be confirmed, initial reporting has indicated the altercation was "not provoked" by Tchouameni.
Several teammates were called in to break up the fight.
It now remains to be seen how Real Madrid deal with the incident.
No updates regarding the potential punishments faced by the players have yet emerged from the club.
