There’s something just not quite right about these plush dolls.
Frank Lampard isn’t set to join up with New York City FC for another couple of months, and yet the Americanisation of the midfielder is already underway.
A big part of US sporting culture is the memorabilia, and seemingly this is also rings true for the Statesiders’ answer to the Premier League, the MLS. As a result, patrons visiting Yankee Stadium can now purchase their very own cuddly toy version of New York-bound Lampard.
The toy might look like it was crafted based off a description slurred down a telephone by an inebriated football hooligan, but we can assure you it was in fact made in Lampard’s likeness. Look, it’s got his name on the shirt and everything. Granted the jersey is a bit ill-fitting, but still!
