PICS: Croatia took a risk with their Euro 2016 kits but, my God, did it pay off

An early favourite

If Euro 2016 was based on the beauty of the kits, Croatia are bankers to go all the way.

The runners-up from Qualifying Group H have put together an absolute stormer of a strip for their summer in France.

It would have been so simple to stick by what they know, straight-up checkered patterns of red and white.

But Croatia are in the risk-taking business.

They’ve decided to mix things up by distorting the pattern so it looks much more lively and animated.

Ante Čačić’s side only have one designated home tie in their Euro 2016 group and it’s their final fixture so you’ll have to wait until 21 June to see the likes of Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic and Mario Mandzukic sporting this bad boy.

Croatia’s campaign gets underway on 12 June against Turkey before they travel to Saint-Etienne to take on Czech Republic. They are designated as the away team for both of those games and due to the fact that Turkey and Czech Republic play in red, Croatia will have to wear their second kit.

Luckily, it’s just as bloody gorgeous.
