Distraction much
It never rains but it pours, and for the FAI at the moment they need a monsoon to try and put out the various fires that keep popping up all over the place.
First it was the €5million loan from Fifa, and now today news has broken of the association having to go all Alan Partridge and destroy the original match programme for today’s Scotland game at the Aviva due to comments from John Delaney about Fifa.
It’s alleged that Delaney had more than few strong words to say about Sepp Blatter and the lads at Fifa, and the cost of destroying the 18,000 programmes was upwards of €10,000.
So it’s hardly a surprise that one of the biggest sports newspapers in the world has reported today’s embarrassing incident with the following tweet.
You’d swear they were enjoying it or something.
