Pic: Former Arsenal midfielder slags off Steven Gerrard on Instagram

Emmanuel Frimpong had a go at the Liverpool skipper in an Instagram post

It appears Emmanuel Frimpong has a very limited understanding of irony.

The former Arsenal midfielder has mocked Steven Gerrard for never winning a league title. Frimpong, currently playing in Russia after being released by League One side Barnsley, posted an image on his Instagram account, mocking Steven Gerrard.

The image is that of the Liverpool skipper, without any league winners’ medals, and Manchester United midfielder Anderson with his four Premier League medals, despite making a very limited impact at the club since joining over seven years ago. Frimpong wrote in the caption: ‘Man like Anderson done what Stevie wanted to do on more than 1 occasion’.

The post was met with strong criticism and was soon deleted, but the criticism of Frimpong continued on Twitter.

Frimpong replied to the barrage of criticism his post received, telling Liverpool fans to ‘shut up’ and to ‘chill’.
