PIC: Chelsea Champions League winner watched Limerick down Shelbourne

Martin Russell’s charges collected a routine three points on Friday night as they moved yet another step closer to promotion with a 2-0 victory over Shelbourne.

Limerick captain Shane Duggan played a starring role as he opened the scoring with a ripping strike from the edge of the area to give his side a half-time lead.

Chris Mulhall added a second after the break to keep Limerick's 20-point lead atop the SSE Airtricity League First Division table in tact.

And Essien, no stranger to a long-range rocket himself, proudly awarded Duggan the man of the match award at full time.
