The German footballing community are making their views on the Premier League’s new TV deal clearly heard.
That’s if this banner, displayed at the Allianz Arena this afternoon, is anything to go by.
The banner reads “This ain’t no Premier League. No to the English model,” in reference to the whopping deal that the Premier League struck with broadcasters earlier this week in a £5.136 billion (€6.9 billion) three-year commitment.
But fans of Germany’s biggest club, Bayern Munich, are clearly intent on keeping such lucrative sums out of the Bundesliga.
An interesting comparison between the two leagues is drawn by Eurosport.
Quoting a BBC study, it’s revealed that the cheapest matchday ticket at the Allianz Arena is just £11.75 (€15.89) and their most inexpensive season ticket is £109.65 (€148.24).
In England, though, the most expensive season ticket is at Arsenal’s Emirates and is priced at £2013 (€2700) and the cheapest matchday ticket in the league come at Newcastle’s St. James Park at £15 (€20.28).
