It appears as though the Turkish international took the joke well anyway
Arda Turan became the talk of social media during the week after he was involved in an absolutely insane incident during Atletico Madrid’s Copa del Rey clash against Barcelona.
The midfielder appeared to throw his boot at the linesman in protest during the game. Although it missed the official by a good bit, so much so that he didn’t even notice the footwear coming hurtling towards, Turan received a lot of backlash for the douchey move. Amazingly, he only received a yellow card for picking up his boot off the ground and firing it at the man on the sideline.
His Madrid teammates showed that they’re well able to have a laugh over the incident. To mark Turan’s birthday, they got him an extra-special cake…in the shape of a boot.
