The 24-year-old's tenure at Old Trafford has been hampered a string of injuries over the last few years. However now he has returned to full fitness the England international has enjoyed an unbroken run of games and been a key part of United's markedly improved defensive solidity.
The Metro reports that in a recent interview with United Review the defender put his improved form down to him taking his post game recovery much more seriously.
"I think as I’ve got older I’ve become wiser to recovery and realised how important it is. When I was younger you think you know it all and after games you probably just go for some food or sit on your PlayStation.
"Now I take it a lot more seriously and recover properly because I know I need to give myself the best possible chance to be as fresh and as fit as I can for the next game."
Small changes seem to be yielding a huge improvement for the defender.
