Paul Pogba has injured himself once again at Juventus meaning that he will be out of action until the end of the month.
The Frenchman has already missed the majority of the season, and the Qatar 2022 World Cup through injury, but finally looked like he was making his way back.
The 2018 World Cup winner came off the bench in recent weeks against Torino and AS Roma in Serie A, and the plan was to get him back into the starting line up sooner rather than later.
However, Pogba was missing against his side’s win over Sampdoria, and it has been revealed that he won’t be back in the immediate future.
According to manager Massimiliano Allegri, the ex-Man United star ‘tweaked a muscle’ while practising free-kicks in Juventus training.
“This morning while he was taking free-kicks he felt discomfort in his adductor, he stopped,” the Juve boss said after the Sampdoria game.
“Tomorrow we will see the extent of the damage. Tonight he could have given us a hand, but we are waiting for him. It’s a year like this anyway, these things happen in life too.
“He must be good and strong to get up and want to return to the player he was before.”
It seems as though every time the former Old Trafford hero tries to work his way back into contention, he ends up hurting himself in the most innocuous of ways, in this instance, taking free kicks.
It’s rarely a hard tackle, or collision that rules him out of action, but a consistent string of pulled and strained muscles.
Pogba has missed a total of 33 matches through injury, which equates to 89 per cent of games this season.
