Your guide to a great weekend of sport and how to stream it all

SportsJOE

Brought to you by NOW.

There’s another great weekend of sport coming up.

There is some great sport on over the weekend, from the GAA All-Ireland Championship to the UFC, Formula 1 and the Uefa Nations League.

And here is how to stream it with a NOW Sports and Sports Extra Membership.

Friday, June 10.

The weekend’s sporting action begins with Formula 1 and the F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the eighth race of the season.

Coverage of the practice session in Baku gets underway on Friday afternoon at 12 pm, qualifying is on Saturday and the final race is on Sunday.

You can stream all of the weekend’s racing with a NOW Sports Membership.

Saturday, June 11.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, game four of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics takes place. The game gets underway at 1:45 am and you can stream it with a NOW Sports Membership.

The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship continues on Saturday, with two matches from the second round of qualifiers. First up, Clare face Roscommon at Croke Park in what should be a close contest.

The Allianz National Football League game between the pair ended in a draw back in February, and the last time the two sides faced each other in the All-Ireland Championship, back in 2016, Clare emerged victorious with a 2-12 to 1-09 win.

Throw-in is at 3:45 pm and you can stream it exclusively live with a NOW Sports Membership. Coverage begins at 3:15 pm.

The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship qualifiers continue on Saturday evening when Mayo face Kildare at Croke Park.

Mayo beat Monaghan 1-13 to 0-12 last Sunday in the first round of the qualifiers. They also beat Kildare 2-20 to 0-18 when the sides played each other in the Allianz National Football League back in February.

The match is a repeat of the 2018 qualifier, the famous ‘Newbridge or nowhere’ game when Kildare fought for home advantage and beat Mayo in Newbridge.

On Saturday evening, the throw-in is due to take place at 6 pm and you can stream it exclusively live with a NOW Sports Membership.

There is also international football on Saturday when the Republic of Ireland take on Scotland at the Aviva Stadium.

You can stream the Uefa Nations League tie with a NOW Sports Extra Membership.

Coverage begins at 4:15 pm and kick-off is at 5 pm.

Sunday, June 12.

The action continues in the early hours of Sunday morning with UFC 275. In the main event, Glover Teixeira defends his light heavyweight title against Jiří Procházka in Singapore.

Brazilian Teixeira (33-7-0) won the light heavyweight belt at UFC 267 last year with a victory over Jan Blachowicz via submission. He turns 43 in October but will defend his title against Procházka before potentially retiring.

Czech fighter Procházka, 29, comes into the bout with a record of 28 wins, 25 by knockout, and is undefeated in his time in the UFC Octagon.

The UFC 275 prelims get underway at 1 am Irish time, with the main event due to take place at 5 am.

You can stream all of the action with a NOW Sports Extra Membership.

On Sunday afternoon, the F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix takes place in Baku.

World champion Max Verstappen comes into the race leading the standings. The Red Bull driver has accumulated 125 points so far, nine clear of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who finished first in qualifying in this city race last year. Red Bull driver Sergio Perez won the race.

You can stream the F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix live with a NOW Sports Membership. Coverage begins at 11:55 am.
