But Memphis Depay looks to be edging closer to a move to Manchester after his agent tweeted a photo from United’s AON Training Complex.
Even in this morning’s transfer rumours, the talk is Brendan Rodgers trying to lure the Dutch winger away from van Gaal’s grasp but it seems the Old Trafford boss is way ahead of the game.
Carl Thomas, an agent with SEG International who represent Depay, was in Carrington yesterday and he wasted no time in letting the world know. We assume he wasn’t ‘just in the neighbourhood.’

Depay has been touted as a future Manchester United player since his impressive World Cup but, even though Mr Thomas was clearly in touch with the club, you have to wonder what he’s up to making it public.
It doesn’t take a detective to work out that there are obviously a number of teams vying for his signature and the rate is going up each time their representatives are seen with a rival bidder.
Looks like Martin Odegaard’s tour of Europe is starting all over again.
