Matt Doherty provides another great assist as Wolves take lead against Bristol

Republic of Ireland and Wolves right-back Matt Doherty notched another assist in the Wanderers fifth round FA Cup visit to Bristol City on Sunday.

Doherty is enjoying a very fine season under manager Nuno Espírito Santo and has recorded five assists in 26 league games this season for the Europa League hopefuls.

His latest assist came in the first-half against Bristol with the Ireland defender taking down a superb crossfield pass before cutting inside and laying the ball onto Ivan Cavaleiro to score.

Doherty recently signed a new four-and-a-half year deal with Wolves earlier this week and the Dubliner claims he loves it at the Molineux.

“I last signed about 18 months ago, and it’s been a good ride since then,” he told the club’s official website.

” We’ve got promoted and we’re still in the midst of a really good season, so I’m happy to tie down my long-term future.

“I’ve been here nine years and they’ve not got rid of me, so I’ll be here for a while yet. I love it here and don’t want to go anywhere. I’m completely settled, so long may it continue.”
