Mason Greenwood’s future at Man United is still in the balance.

Mason Greenwood’s situation with Manchester United and Getafe has already been evaluated by the club’s incoming owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Greenwood is currently playing his football with Spanish team Getafe in the La Liga, but it wasn’t long ago that he seemed destined for a return to the United team.

The young striker was already being integrated back into the team, but leaks from club sparked outrage from sections of United and general football supporters, who did not support his return to the squad.

This then threw the Englishman’s future back into doubt, and after much deliberation and speculation it was finally agreed that he would be sent on loan to play his football elsewhere for this season.

Whether or not Greenwood will return to Old Trafford is still to be seen, but it appears that the incoming owner has already been scanning his options.

“Incoming co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is already discussing Greenwood’s situation internally, and from what I’m told, he’s made no decision at all and nothing will be decided in December,’ Fabrizio Romano, writing in his exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside, said.

“So the idea is to take some time and just let Greenwood play football. Then, based on his performances for Getafe, Man United will discuss their position and that of the player. This will likely take place in March, April or May.

“There will be many different factors to consider, and obviously the new Man United board will have a new CEO and new people in charge of the transfer market, meaning that they will all decide on transfer business together.”

Of course this is a delicate situation that needs to be handled carefully and they do not want a repeat of the media circus that followed the club last summer when the news first leaked that he could be staying with the Red Devils.
