Manchester United’s fans left frustrated by the club’s kit launch

They are crying out for a new signing

You’d do well to find a Manchester United supporter who hadn’t already got a glimpse of the club’s new home kit.

It was leak-a-week stuff ahead of Monday morning, when United’s official Twitter account unveiled the home shirt that will be worn throughout the 2017/18 season.

New arrival Victor Lindelof joined record signing Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard to show off the new gear which we’ve pretty much seen as far back as March.

In describing the new design, the club had the below to say on their website.

“The latest home shirt features a minimalist, sophisticated design which pays homage to some of the classic kits from the past, at the same time as being at the forefront of technical sportswear design with technical, breathable fabrics and mesh engineering.

“The kit features an all-new button-up collar offering an elegant and contemporary design, the adidas three stripes in white on the shoulders and red, white and black sleeves to represent the colours of the flags seen on matchdays at Old Trafford.”

Minimalist, sophisticated designs and all-new button-up collars aside, United supporters remained disappointed due to the fact that they’ve now had to deal with more kit unveilings than player announcements this summer.

Lindelof remains the Red Devils’ only new addition thus far in the transfer window, despite the fact that they’ve been linked with countless players in the press.

Manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly frustrated by the club’s lack of transfer activity, having handed over a list of targets at the end of last season.

And a similar sense of frustration was visible in the replies to the launch of United’s home shirt…
