Manchester United fans praise Liverpool supporters for forcing u-turn on ticket prices

A victory for fans

Kevin McGillicuddy

Liverpool fans may have started a trend that could have greedy football owners counting their filthy lucre tonight.

Earlier the Merseysider’s owners announced that after fan protests and much anger around the club’s proposed plans to try and charge £77 for a match a ticket had been scrapped.

Instead the maximum price for a ticket at Anfield next season, and the season after, will be a more manageable £59.

Ticket prices are a huge issue for supporters of clubs across the Premier League but tonight’s seemingly successful action against American owners has a ]some fans very very pleased.

Manchester United is of course owned by the Glazers, and fans of Liverpool’s greatest rivals have been praising what has been achieved on Merseyside this evening while some Arsenal fans have also rowed in with kudos to the Red’s supporters
