Louis van Gaal had one problem.
His side couldn’t get the ball in the back of the net up to Tuesday night’s 3-3 draw with Newcastle.
But after that game a more glaring issue with the club’s current squad became apparent; there is something rotten at the heart of their defence.
It may not have been so apparent when the club were playing backwards and sideways all the time, but even the team second from bottom in the Premier League still managed to score three times in 90 minutes.
And now Louis van Gaal is set to make his first January signing with Aleksandar Dragovic likely to join the club before the weekend to bolster the club’s rearguard.
According to reports the centre-half is set to move to Old Trafford for £16million from Dynamo Kiev.
Aleksandar Dragovic sounds like the villian from a movie sequel who's come to avenge the death of his long lost father. #MUFC

Sport Mediaset are reporting the 24-year-old, who was being linked with a summer time move to Arsenal, can be a immediate success as the pressure increases on Louis van Gaal whose side are slipping off the pace in the Premier League at an alarming rate.
Hopefully the Dragovic deal goes through. Damian back to RB and Blind to LB, some consistency and who knows. Better days ahead #MUFC
