Senne Lammens – 6
Solid aerially, and not massively tested throughout. All saves he made were staple.
Leny Yoro – 3
Looked out of sorts before being subbed on 55 minutes. Was naive and clumsy in fouling Mateta for the penalty, and had looked uncertain even before that alongside De Ligt. Still learning.
Matthijs de Ligt – 4
Poor in the first half, had a mix-up with Yoro for an early Mateta chance, and his slip for Nketiah’s big chance could have seen United 2-0 down at HT. Improved in the second.
Luke Shaw – 6
Dives in a lot all over the pitch – can either look reckless or brave – but looked the latter on Sunday. Looked like he was going through the motions first half but improved like many others after half time.
Amad Diallo – 6
United tried to find him more on the wing after a quiet opening – can be lightweight at times but still one of his side’s biggest attacking threats.
Diogo Dalot – 5
United’s long-throw tool – but sees too much of the ball in an attacking area for a player with average attacking ability. Did skip past two players in the second half, but went down when he should have stayed up and shot. No foul given, to his embarrassment.
Casemiro – 5
Headed wide a big early chance, and didn’t command the game in the first half, before showing more grit in the second.
Bruno Fernandes – 7
Was weak with his back to goal near halfway to lead to a big early chance for Palace, but brilliant deliveries and clever play brought United back into play. Assisted Zirkzee’s goal with a clever reverse pass, and shifted the wall for Mount’s goal. Still United’s main man.
Bryan Mbeumo – 5
One of the quietest first halves we’ve seen from Mbeumo in a United shirt – Guehi was fully on top of him, and he couldn’t hold up the ball. Received a petulant yellow card for throwing ball away, but began entering the game more after the break.
Mason Mount – 7
Marking Chris Richards at set pieces seemed a mismatch, but his superb free-kick finish was harder than it looked. Kept things ticking in midfield and always desperately looking for angles.
Joshua Zirkzee – 6
Another game of two halves – In the first, he couldn’t hold up ball, and kept picking the wrong pass. Just doesn’t give you much confidence, but his big finish from tight angle to make it 1-1 was special. His first PL goal in 24 PL matches.
Subs to note
Noussair Mazraoui – on 55 – 7
Looked fresh and strong down United’s right and gave the side more shape in defence. Impressive second-half cameo.
