Two senior Manchester United chiefs have spoken on Erik ten Hag after the huge 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday at Old Trafford.
Speaking after the game, Omar Berrada and Dan Ashworth addressed the Reds' away victory courtesy of two Luis Diaz goals and a Mohamed Salah strike.
United suffered their second consecutive league defeat after a summer expectation to push on.
Ten Hag is currently the joint-favourite to be sacked according to Sky Bet at 11/4.
However, following speculation over his future, United CEO Berrada has issued a public statement on Ten Hag's future:
"Erik has our full backing and we have worked very closely together in this transfer window. We're going to continue working very closely with him to help him get the best results out of the team."
He then added: "In terms of the contract, that was a decision that was taken prior to both of our arrivals. But we're very happy with that decision."
Berrada continued that they will support the Dutchman even if United's poor start continues, stating: "Absolutely. We think Erik is the right coach for us and we're fully backing him."
Sporting director Dan Ashworth then opened up on his relationship with Erik ten Hag:
"Very rarely do you go into a job as a sporting director and there's no manager in place. It happened at Newcastle with Eddie Howe and also at West Brom where Tony Mowbray was in place," he claimed.
"I've really enjoyed working with Erik for the last eight weeks. My job is to support him in every way I possibly can to fully focus on the training pitch and the match tactical plan to deliver success for Manchester United."
