United couldn’t resist a little dig.

Manchester United have mocked their local rivals Manchester City following Bruno Fernandes’ controversial equaliser.

Man United came from behind to beat Pep Guardiola’s side 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday, putting City further behind Arsenal in the title race.

Jack Grealish gave the visitors the lead in the 60th minute before the hosts replied 18 minutes later as Fernandes latched onto Casemiro’s pass to fire past Ederson.

The goal was initially ruled out for offside as Marcus Rashford appeared to interfere with play, making a run towards the ball before Fernandes gave him the call to leave it.

After a lengthy consultation, referee Stuart Attwell consulted with linesman Darren Cann, who had initially flagged for offside, reversed the decision and awarded the goal, much to the anger of Man City.

Erik ten Hag’s side are now one point behind their neighbours and ahead of their trip to Crystal Palace on Wednesday, decided to post a light-hearted dig at Man City on TikTok.

Sharing a clip of Fernandes’ equaliser, which featured Rashford running towards the ball, the song ”U Can’t Touch This’ played over it, referencing how the goal would have been disallowed if the England international touched the ball.

After the derby day defeat, City boss Guardiola was left incensed by the decision to allow the goal to stand.

He said: “Rashford is offside. Bruno Fernandes is not offside. The question is intervening or not intervening in the action.

“When one player shoots and [another] player is in front of the keeper and does not touch the ball, it’s disallowed all the time. The decision is of course [belonging to] the referees and VAR.

“We follow the action, we don’t make an offside [appeal], we follow the action and after the action, it’s either Ederson intervenes [with a save] or not.”
