Man United fans at Carabao Cup final to receive free gifts

All 33,000 in attendance will receive a free gift.

Manchester United fans travelling to Wembley Stadium for the Carabao Cup final will receive a free gift from the club.

United are looking for their first trophy in six years as they go up against the high-flying Newcastle United.

Newcastle meanwhile are looking to win their first major trophy since lifting the FA Cup in 1955. Eddie Howe's side have never won the League Cup, coming closest in 1976 only to lose in the final.

As part of the occasion, the club have taken the initiative of providing all 33,000 of those making the trip to Wembley with a limited-edition red and white scarf to help boost at the atmosphere.

Rick McGagh, the head of fan engagement at the Red Devils, told the Daily Mail: "Our fans have been brilliant again this season and we saw on Thursday night against Barcelona the role they play in inspiring the team and helping us get over the line in tight games.

"The manager and players really value and appreciate their support, so we wanted to take the opportunity to recognise our fans and to reward them with something special at Wembley.

"Hopefully these scarves will provide a lasting memento of another great day in our club's history as we look to win our first trophy under Erik.

"We hope the 33,000 fans making the trip to Wembley, and all our supporters watching across the world, have a great day on Sunday."

The Red Devils have been in red-hot former under Erik ten Hag and continued their excellent campaign with a comeback win against Barcelona to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
