He wasn’t so good at the football but who really is these days?
Jose Enrique’s contract at Liverpool wasn’t up until the summer but rather than carry on the charade of pretending he’s still an option, Jurgen Klopp has made the decision to release the Spaniard early.
According to The Express, the left back has parted ways from Anfield and, whilst fans might not care too much about the footballer they’re losing, they are set to let go of an Instagram legend.
Footballers come and go but likes and followers are forever. And Liverpool are set to lose a key player in that field.
It hasn’t all ben easy for him though. A master camp-splitter, Enrique has even enjoyed some classic inconsistency with his social media game too.
Just last summer, he took the decision to close his Instagram account and focus on winning back his Liverpool place.
It was a rough day…
His Twitter account never went anywhere though and, thankfully, many of his Instagram pictures have been preserved on the internet.
He became infamous for his goading of Chelsea supporters following their title triumph last season.
…but that was about it when it came to actual football.
His accounts held so much more. Such as his love of animals, for example.

Enrique deleted the above tweet once he realised he was basking in reflective glory, as it were…
Now that football isn’t working out, Enrique will be thankful he has other skills, like mini-golf and hoverboarding…
But, with his Premier League career on life support, Enrique finally opted to knuckle down.
He had one aim and that was to get back onto the field.
