Liverpool prepared to spend millions on inexperienced teenager to replace Alberto Moreno

Bye bye

Alberto Moreno’s time at Anfield looks almost certainly to be over.

The Spaniard endured a horror show on Wednesday night as Liverpool’s season ended in failure with a 3-1 loss to Sevilla in the Europa league final.

The former Sevilla player had one of his worst games for the club, which is saying something considering his regular brain dead displays for the Reds this season.

With Jose Enrique already having left Liverpool, and Klopp showing little faith in Jon Flanagan, the club is now looking to Leicester City to put the pressure on Moreno for next season.

According to the Telegraph, Liverpool is days away from signing their highly rated left back Ben Chilwell for £7million.

The 19-year-old is also wanted by Arsenal, but Liverpool is willing to pay over the odds to secure his place on Merseyside which may even see the fee put beyond £10million.

The England U-21 international only played three times for Claudio Ranieri’s side, but his club has rejected two bids from Arsenal in the last 12 months for his services.

Chilwell’s arrival will also come in the same time frame as the departure of Martin Skrtel.

The Slovakia captain is expected to be allowed leave the club in the coming weeks and Turkey is his most likely destination.

The 31-year-old has fallen out of favour under Klopp after several shoddy displays, and his departure is inevitable.
