Liverpool players pictured in unusual new away kit, confirming throwback suspicions

White and green? Interesting

Those leaked images seem to have been legit.

While Liverpool have yet to confirm their away jersey for the 2017/18 season, the fact that photographs of some Reds players sporting the new gear have emerged online would suggest that this is indeed the direction that the Anfield club is set to go.

For the upcoming season, Liverpool are expected to ditch their bold black colour for trips on the road in favour of a brighter, white and green design.

It’s believed that the new away top is already on sale in certain parts of the world, with an official release expected before the week is out.

Made by New Balance, the shirt will feature a special 125th anniversary crest, which you can see in greater detail below.

If the jersey looks familiar, perhaps you’re remembering the likes of John Barnes supporting this green and white number from the mid-1990s.

Who doesn’t love a good old fashioned throwback?
