Jurgen Klopp had highlighted the two key areas in which he needed improvement and Liverpool are not messing about with getting them sorted.

Goalkeeper Loris Karius was signed to provide some much-needed competition for the undependable Simon Mignolet between the sticks and now the Reds have turned their eye to the issue at left back.

Alberto Moreno is not thought to be considered a first-choice left full by Klopp and Liverpool have reportedly made a bid for a potential replacement.

Lorient’s Raphael Guerreiro is not exactly a household name but the Portugal international has drawn interest from Klopp and has already been the subject of a bid, according to the French club’s vice-president.

A host of clubs are interested in the 22-year-old and the Merseyside outfit have made concrete bid for the prodigious defender.
