Lille fans were furious at their side’s 1-1 draw with Montpellier on Saturday and stormed the pitch after the full-time whistle to harass the players.
Lille are winless from their last six games and currently sit eight points from bottom in Ligue 1 as they battle the rest of the season to avoid relegation.

The professional football league (LFP) “strongly condemned” the actions of Lille supporters and announced that the pitch invasion will be put on trial on Thursday night before its disciplinary proceedings, according to a statement released from the LFP on Sunday.
The Disciplinary Committee of the League will meet to investigate the case and should reach a conclusion on the matter sometime next month.
In the interim, Lille’s Pierre-Mauroy Stadium may be suspended as a precaution during the investigation, which, would potentially leave Lille without a home ground for just one of their remaining nine league matches.
