Leicester City defender reminds planet he once played with Cristiano Ronaldo

We would do the exact same thing, if we could

SportsJOE once played junior football with Keith Fahey but you don’t hear us going on about it… Keith. Fahey!

The world and his/her dog were on Twitter last night, heaping praise on FIFA World Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo, after he claimed the Ballon d’Or in Zurich.

Among the footballers to congratulate the Real Madrid star were Rio Ferdinand, Arjen Robben, original Ronaldo and Gareth Bale (even though he hates passing to CR7).

Leicester City’s Danny Simpson was quick off the mark, too, as he reminded the world that he once played with the Portuguese ace. The full-back was at Manchester United, with Ronaldo, from 2003. He made his senior team breakthrough in 2006 but only played six times for United, over four seasons, before he was sold to Newcastle United. He moved to Leicester, from QPR, last summer.
